LYNN KENNETH PECKNOLD
Recently I spied a Sculpture in Port Alberni, British Columbia, that I had not noticed before. It was an amazing sculpture by an Aboriginal Artist, but there was no signature or signage to indicate who the accomplished artist was.To make a longer story short, I contacted the Major B.C. Company who had contracted for the work by email and phone, and eventually had an opportunity to meet the artist. I'm glad I did. The artist is an accomplished Designer with an extensive list of skills and talents to her credits. After a few months and some email contact and a phone call I finally got the courage to pay her a visit. I am so glad that I did. As a retired art teacher and the encouragement of my three daughters and wife, I have taken on the identity of an "Emerging Septuagenarian Artist." I dedicate this Suite of Prints, "Old Logs By The Wayside" to one of my new favorite Artists and Designers, Connie Watts. The suite is inspired by a photograph of an "old log with a slice out of it by the side of a "road" - No further comment.
Take a look at her website and you will become a fan as well, I am sure.
